Project Signals: How to Track Progress
Know your project is on track through these visible indicators
Tasks Shipped
Portal shows completed tasks with timestamps. If tasks aren't moving to "Done" weekly, flag with project manager.
Metrics Moving
Key metrics dashboard updates weekly. Stagnant numbers may indicate blockers or scope issues requiring discussion.
Weekly Memos
Progress summary posted every Friday. Missing memos or vague updates warrant immediate escalation.
Demo Sessions
Bi-weekly live demos show working features. If demos are repeatedly postponed, scope or resources need adjustment.
Response Times
Questions answered within agreed SLA (4-48 hours depending on tier). Consistent delays signal capacity issues.
Iteration Velocity
Sprint velocity tracked over time. Declining velocity indicates technical debt or resource constraints to address.
When to Escalate
If any of these signals are consistently negative for 2+ weeks, use the portal's escalation feature or email your project manager directly. We'd rather address concerns early than let them compound.
